Our compassionate team of professional therapists supports individuals and families presenting with psychological and emotional issues in the mild to moderate range, in a safe and comfortable environment.
Our professional service is based on need, not ability to pay. We accept donations on a sliding scale from those who can afford to pay, but our primary goal is to help the local community and individuals who experience marginalisation.

Promoting positive mental health in Wexford since 1988
The Ford Counselling and Psychotherapy Centre has provided counselling services to Wexford for over 30 years. We support members of the community with a wide range of psychological, behavioural and emotional problems.
Back in 1988, our organisation emerged from ACCORD, which has provided couples counselling since the 1960s. We realised there was a widespread need in the community for broader counselling services. So Family Life Service, as we were once known, was set up as a limited company and registered charity.
Renamed the Ford Counselling and Psychotherapy Centre , this new title reflects our growing service offering. The name stems from our Wexford pride, as well as the fact that river fords are shallow and can be crossed on foot. They provide a safe crossing, which is exactly what our counselling and psychotherapy services aim to do.
We’re an AACPI member
In 2015, we joined the Association for Agency-based Counselling & Psychotherapy in Ireland. This TUSLA-funded organisation upholds standards of equality, diversity and accountability within community-based, not-for-profit counselling services.
All AACPI members have professionally trained counsellors and psychotherapists who adhere to the ethics codes of accrediting bodies.
The Ford Counselling and Psychotherapy Services is supported by the HSE, Tusla, The Diocese of Ferns, Philanthropic donations, The Katharine Howard Foundation, Mercy Solidarity Foundation and Client Donations
The Ford Counselling and Psychotherapy Centre works collaboratively with ACCORD Wexford which provides Marriage and Relationship Counselling services throughout the Diocese of Ferns. Together our two services through our shared resources provide a greater range and depth of service for Wexford individuals and communities. ACCORD can be contacted on www.accord.ie or on our shared Wexford number 053-9123086.
